It’s not quite Chez Cereal, (pronounced: shay sii ray-ahl) but a similar idea has been done. I share Robbie’s sentiment about this.
This weekend Julai discovered they’re streaming the entire animated series of The Mysterious Cities of Gold on Netflix. I only vaguely remember MCoG airing when I was little, but it stands the test of time.
The series is set in 16th century Mesoamerica with a mix of historical and fantastical elements. The opening theme and soundtrack are excellent, and there are some remarkably trippy sequences and adult themes for it ostensibly being a kid’s cartoon. The educational segments at the end of each episode aren’t bad either! (There’s footage of an iguana eating a cactus that I can’t get over.) I’ll say the English dubbed vocals aren’t superb, but what can you do. The adapted musical score more than makes up for it. We love it, and have made it a new Saturday morning tradition, which we also enjoy with our cat, Wizard.
Last week, I mentioned some comic shops where you can pick up the new Robbie and Bobby book. You can always order it from my online store, but seeing it in the real is pretty cool, too.
I asked some folks on Facebook and Twitter what kind of new R&B merch they’d like to see and got some great ideas, thanks to everyone who pitched in. I’ll let you know what I come up with! In the meantime, I’m trying to make some room in the shop, so I’ve marked down the prices on my inventory of t-shirts.

Oh my god. That was amazing. Damn you Poland! Why can’t I just have a favorite Robbie and Bobby of all time that stays my favorite Robbie and Bobby of all time without being usurped by some new favorite Robbie and Bobby of all time all the time???
Thanks so much Mark. Every time I make a new R&B that’s your favorite, a new alternate dimension of existence is created. Have fun exploring them all!
I love Bobby’s face in the fifth panel. I wish I could contort my visage to reflect such a keenly satisfied crunch.
It helps to practice: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IdMf1XvdQ50&feature=related
Robbie’s looking fancy with those elbow patches.
So professorial! It’s been awhile since Robbie’s pulled out his tweed blazer: http://robbieandbobby.com/robbie-and-bobby-260/
Giant robot mega-attack, heck yeah!
I am confident this is the only instance where a robot has unleashed such power while proclaiming what kind of mouse he is not.
i love the animation, and the country mouse phrase is so underused i had completely forgotten about it, and i dine and dash the same way, but curiously i have not been able to identify the what the lazer is coming out of is it his brain lazer or heart lazer or if it not an earthquake fart destruction
Brain, heart, and bowels join forces for maximum dine n’ dash devastation.
Amazing comic; I love the animation.
Incidentally, this comic has inspired me to class up my breakfasts, too. Tomorrow, I’ll have to crack open that box of Crunchy Puffs I’ve been aging for the last few years.
Ah, 1993 was a good year for Crunchy Puffs. Very good choice, sir.
