When I was in middle school, I remember using a PC word processing program that was a pretty similar experience to Bildungsroman 3D (except no booze, BORING). You started in a virtual cabin, where you had a writing desk underneath a window overlooking a duck pond. Imagine Oregon Trail for poets! Except this wasn’t really a “game,” per say. You’d reflect on the water fowl, then sit down and get crackin’ on that great American novel. All the CGI trees were supposed to get you in the mood to write, I guess?
So, I probably need to find this program to satisfy my lame nostalgia. If you have any idea what I’m talking about, I’d appreciate a lead in the right direction. I think it came free with Windows 95 (like all the best things in life).
