When I’m feeling too cheerful, I like to make up Tom Waits lyrics about the saddest things I can imagine. Then I sing those lyrics into a water n’ gravy pie, and serve it to a three-legged dog wearing a busted-out top hat. Works every time!

There’s a new blog post about the time I had at the Dallas Webcomic Expo. And what a time it was! You can check that out here.
This coming week is going to be a busy one! I’m finishing up a large painting that will be up for auction at the NANO Fiction Five Anniversary Dance Party & Auction. The painting features two characters from a new comic of mine that’s debuting in the next issue of NANO Fiction. I’ll have a blog about that this week. Until then, you can see a sneak peek of it here, as well as the details of the event. If you’re in the Houston area August 26th, you should totally come by! It’s going to be a real hoot.

Fill your pockets up with earth. Get yourself a dollar's worth.
I wouldn't want to meet Tom Waits in a dark alley… or anywhere I guess. I'd probably crap my pants the second he speaks.
He would probably talk through his deep brow wrinkles. Nightmare fuel!
Haha, this is fantastic!
i dunno, guys. I find him kinda soothing. Like scary a old neighbor who you've heard rumors about him murdering someone so you always try to avoid him. But then your family forgets to take you with them on vacation, so you end up having to face your fears and you have to rely on him in some way, probably involving some sort of bandits, and it turns out he really has a heart of gold.
Haha, I like the Tom Waits/Home Alone fan fiction you just wrote there
I just tried my best at doing a creepy voice for that
I recorded it, and I think it sounds crappy. I can post it if you want though
Go for it! I’m always trying to imitate that ol’ gravel throat. It’s fun to be creepy!
my friend Zach and I recently Skyped so we could collaborate on writing the saddest birthday song ever a la Tom Waits. if only he’d record it!!
